I hit a deer and need a new hood for my V6. I plan on sticking with the same V6 hood, but I was thinking of going with an all gloss black one on my Destroyer Grey car, as is quite popular lately. What I am worried about is doing that when I have red striping on my car. Would a grey car with a black hood and red striping just have too much going on, or do you think it would work? Thanks.

If you add red hood stripes, I would remove the front fender stripes. Both would look too busy.

As an alternative, you could keep your fender stripes and install a hood without stripes.

Personally I think it looks great as is, so I would put it back together the way it was before the deer incident! Sorry to hear that by the way!!!! :(

The front fender is being replaced, and I believe it will come without decals. My plan was a gloss black hood with no decals on it or the front fender/bumper. Wasn't planning on adding red to the hood, but maybe that would tie everything together better?

Black hood, no fender stripes BUT maybe run a red 1/8" pinstripe accenting the edge of the hood bulge from the front of the hood around the scoops and continue to the back edge by the windshield.

I am only getting a new fender on the driver’s side and already have striping painted on the passenger side. I will need to repaint the striping on the new fender, but I like the idea of adding a pinstripe of some sort to the hood. Maybe something like this?

I saw thinking of just a small pinstripe on the (flat- horizontal) top of the hood bulge, facing up. It would be above and over the edge of where you positioned your stripes on the vertical sides of the bulge. What you did really looks good, wow.

I saw a red challenger last week with a gloss black hood and I was not a big fan of it, to me it looked a little out of place. Your car looks really good the way it is (or was). If you like the black I would paint the hood the Matte black and have the matte black decals on the roof and trunk ( like the TA version and yes I am bias to that look! ). Have the matte hood sealed if you don’t mind a little shine to it

Install a wrap then you can remove it if you get tired of looking at it. This 3M one looks nice

There’s no shop anywhere near me that does wrapping on cars. I’m about 45 minutes East of Fargo, ND. I could have the hood painted matte black and put clear coat over that I suppose. Think that would work?

My car is at the detail shop getting the Dr. Beasley coating on the matte black. I will be getting it back tomorrow and I will give you feedback on it. The detail guy is charging me $150 to apply it and I purchased the product. I did a lot of research before I ordered it and I think it may be a better option than clearcoat. I think the matte is more durable than you may think (or more than I thought). I originally thought it may stain easy but had a few marks from the leaves getting wet and sitting on the hood over night but it came right off with a light wash
