you would want a satin clear put on. I don't think that would ever buff to a shine unless you buffed all the through it. A body shop should be able to answer that question.
If you're skeptical, stick with gray and add those small stripes to the hood bulge in black or do red with a black outline.

I got the car back from the detailer . The matte black has a very slight shine to it however when the water hits it rolls off like its coated with wax. I’m pleased with the results. The guy told me it was easy to apply. Its hard to get a good picture of it

I’m going to be taking my car in later today and talking to the shop. We’ll see what happens.

 

Decided that I will be going with a gloss black hood, and to tie everything together I will be extending the fender stripes onto the hood, like in the photo but without the R/T of course.

I gotta be me.

The fender stripes look more finished going up to the hood bulge like you have them.
That'll look good.
