I might be behind the times on this but I just got notification from Dodge on my 2014 R/T for a possible diode thermal fatigue failure. It shows the parts to remedy this are not currently avail. It is referring to my alternator. All efforts are being made to secure the parts & I will be notified by mail when to set up an appt. with my dealer. It should show up on Google by the recall #. T36/NHTSA 17V-435. Whats more than a little scary is how the prob. is described in hvy. black print. FAILED DIODES MAY ALSO DEVELOP A RESISTIVE SHORT CIRCUIT THAT CAN RESULT IN HEAT,SMOKE AND/OR FIRE ORIGINATING WITH THE ALTERNATOR. Has anyone else rec'd. a notice like this? It refers to an electro-hydraulic pwr. steering (EHPS) current loss if the diode failue happens.
