Many Challenger owners, especially those whose cars are left outdoors, have experienced cracked or torn rubber hood moldings. Replacements from the dealer cost $70 are are prone to the same problem.

This is because the flimsy rubber is constantly exposed to the elements (i.e., cracks and dries out) and the hood rubs against it.

Another Challenger owner has thought of a great and inexpensive solution- 2 1/4" weather stripping for garage doors. It's angled and can be attached below the plastic retainer, as well as on it, using 3M double- sided tape. The material is made to withstand constant exposure to the elements as well as weight resting on it.

    Sheer genius!
