I have a 2016 trip plus that won’t crank. You can push the starter button, everything lights up like normal but no crank. Checked fuses they looked ok, all but kicked it , tried again and it fired right up. Got home with it and same deal no crank. Anyone have any ideas?

Wonder if it misbehaves using the key fob?

My guess is that it is a faulty stop light switch.

Tom, good guess. At first you might think, “huh?”, but remember you have to press the brake pedal to start the car.
A few years back, I had a Ford Escape that the cruise control wouldn’t work. Turned out the brake light switch was misadjusted, so it thought the brake pedal was always pushed. Pretty simple fix once you understand what’s going on!
