Ralph Gilles, SRT Motorsports President/CEO, announced, today (August 7), that SRT Motorsports/Dodge was pulling out of NASCAR at the end of the 2012 season. He stated, "We couldn’t go forward with a structure that met our standards.” He also talked about how the “one-stop shop” relationship SRT Motorsports had with Penske Racing was a bit unique. Since the Penske announcement in March to move to Ford next year, he said "we’ve not been able to assemble a complete structure to meet the company’s high standards so we could go out and race with confidence." Not exactly like the Dodge/Plymouth glory days of the late 60s.
That sux. No more Dodge in Nascar. Maybe with the Kia being made in the USA it will take Dodge's place.
