This 1970 Alpine White 440-Six Pack Plymouth Superbird has a new home.

It was originally purchased by Pete Harris and used, incredibly, as a daily commuter car in Kentucky.

Due to Pete's proximity to the track and close friendships with racing pioneers, the Superbird became a canvas for motorsport history. Numerous NASCAR veterans signed the vehicle's hood, leaving permanent marks of their legacy. Most notable was an encounter with Richard Petty, who autographed the sheet metal directly behind the car's hood scoop, a moment captured in local newspaper photographs.

Pete meticulously maintained the vehicle's historical artifacts, storing registrations, the original bill of sale, and the factory build sheet inside a dedicated briefcase. Though the vehicle eventually received an exterior repaint and minor quarter-panel repairs due to rust from regional road conditions, the family preserved the signed hood exactly as it was, valuing its profound historical provenance over cosmetic perfection.

Following Pete's passing, ownership transitioned to Danny, who later passed the documentation to his son, named James Harris in memory of Danny’s and Pete’s father. By keeping the title registered under the name James Harris, the family maintained a poignant link to its original buyer across generations. The vehicle eventually moved to a residential garage in Alabama, where it sat quietly for over two decades, completely unknown to local enthusiasts.

This story has a happy ending, and it comes in the form of the riders of the storm from Mopars5150, Tony Sedillo and Davis Bergeron, who came in to take the car to its new home.
