Curious as to how wide a tire will fit on an '18 TA 5.7 with 9" wheel width? Does staggering a wider tire on the rear create any issues? Thanks!
The widest tire that you fit on a 9" wheel is a 275. Anything wider will not wear or perform properly and may be dangerous. This is what I have on the rear on my 2009 SRT. On the front, I have 245/45-20 tires. This is a great looking "old school" staggered set-up. My car handles better and I have more traction for acceleration. Here are two photos of my rear tires.
A properly sized 275 tire on an 9-inch wheel will look like the image on the left in the following diagram. Anything wider will look like the image in the center.
You could also switch out your wheels and run even wider tires if you like. I have 275/40/20s in front and 315/35/20s in back.
