Hey guys. I'm new here on this forum and I have a question about tire sizes. I'm looking at running 255/30/20 on the fronts with a 8.5" wheel and 285/30/20 on the rear with a 9.5" wheel. Will these sizes work? Any issues?

    Thanks much...

A 285/30/20 will not perform properly or wear correctly on a 9.5" wheel. It needs a 10-11" wheel.

I would recomend a 255/45/20 on the front and a 275/40/20 on the rear. They are the closest match for diameter and revs per mile. If you can't find a 40 series tire for the rear, you can go with a 45 series. A 30 series tire will have a smaller diameter and will look funny on your R/T (too much gap between the top of the tire and the top of the wheel well) unless your suspension has been lowered. The SRT, which has a lowered suspension, only uses 45 series tires.

Bear in mind that the wider tires, especially the rear, with throw up a lot of road debris against your fenders. You should install mud flaps to protect your paint.

You can check on other size combinations by using 1010 tires' online calculator:

Thanks for the info SRT Tom.

I think I am going with the 8.5" wheels and (4) 255-45-20 tires. That way I can rotate. Will that fit OK?

I'm running 245/40R20's on 8.5's on the front and 295/35R20's on 10's on the rear.
2 summers with these and no issues at all. Also lowered using the SRT8 Billstein Suspension both struts and springs all the way around.

Yes. A 255/45/R20 requires a wheel width between 8-9.5, so an 8.5 wheel would be fine.
