I saw an on line ad in cars.com from a used car dealer, Paul Sevag Motors, in West Chester, PA. He was selling a 2009 R/T with $17,216 miles for $23,345. In the ad, he stated that the Challenger has "SRT trim." I am not sure if he added the badges and hood stripes or if that is how he purchased it. Either way, no one should be up-badging. Here are two of the photos that accompanied the ad.
well, you could take it 2 ways, if it is an RT it would have the 5.7 in it, looking at the hood it seems like is is the 6.1 HEMI badge. plus the stripes look carbon fiber which the SRT has. thing that throws me are the rims, which are RT chrome clads. could be that he damaged the rims and bought these for replacements or he really went out of the way to up badge it to look like an SRT. Also, I am not sure that the SRT came in Stone White that year.... but I could be wrong. would need an engine shot to verify that though. that would be the dead give a way.
The RTs have a slightly smaller spoiler as well. That looks like the RT spoiler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It has a 5.7 Hemi (see photo). Also, in 2009, SRTs only came in three colors- Hemi orange, silver and black. Notice that are no Brembo brake calipers. The dealer states that it bought the R/T with the "SRT trim" added by the previous owner (i.e., the poser).
What a shame. I will never understand why people do this.. I know damn well it's not only because "it's my car I can do what ever I want with it" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
