Hello all.

I have not been able to use my auto start feature because of a check engine light. Well its been taken care off, no more check engine light. I lock it and then I double press the auto start button it does two horn sounds and then it should start but it does not. Any ideas?

I hear the two horn sound but wont auto start.

Best.

What is the trouble code? If you do not have a scanner, take it to Autozone for a free scan.

There is no code. No check engine. It just wont auto start. 2010 SRT8.

How old is the keyfob battery? Have you tried your spare keyfob?

If your battery is relatively new, you may have a problem with the keyless entry system that reads the key fob.

No spare. Original fob broke. Got this one around 2 years ago and worked for auto start.

Wait… why does your key fob for a Challenger have two buttons for a rear hatch?

I have a 2010 SRT as well. My key fobs look like this:

The previous owner probably lost the original key fobs and incorrectly bought a replacement designed for a Chrysler/Dodge SUV (i.e., for an Aspen, Journey or Nitro).

You can buy two key fobs, designed for the Challenger, on E-Bay, for only $14.99. Then you can have them programmed by a locksmith.

You have to many variables there, you will drive yourself crazy. Call a locksmith or someone who does e key programming. Maybe they will help over the phone.
