Tracks are wrapping up the season soon. Let's hear the best time slip you pulled this year. Car, mods, density altitude, all of it.

Bragging encouraged.

I took my 2009 SRT (6.1 stock) to the track once. My best time was 13.0 sec. @106 mph.

If you want to bench race, check out this calculator. It accurately demonsrates the power-to-weight principle. That's why a 2,900 car, with only 270 flywheel hp. can run a fast 13.3 sec. 1/4 mile at 107 mph.

Well, shoot.
Been a long, long time but I did a two-way average of 14 secons in a first-gen RX7 powershifted at redline.
1/4 mile road one way: 13.5
1/4 mile same road the other way: 14.5.
Revving it to redline before powershifting, revs hit 10,500 between gears. It was heaven!
Bone stock RX7 from 1985 EXCEPT for the massive power-sucking fan removed for winter. That felt like I had slapped a blower on the car. Isn't that ironic.

BTW, the RX7 had the greatest ventilation system ever known: It blew hot air at your feet while allowing you to get fresh, cold air from the vents directed at your face. No other car I have ever had could do that. GREAT for driving at night. So comfortable.

While I'm on the topic, The Wankel engine THRIVES on turbos, because there is just SO MUCH HEAT AND VELOCITY IN THAT EXHAUST. Like on big rig, you reclaim some of the energy with a turbo that would otherwise be wasted. The Rotary ADORES turbocharging. Wasting all that heat and velocity is criminal. Turbos should be bolted right to the face of the exhaust port, maximizing pulsation, which turbos love at lower RPM, as there is no column of air to spring and compress and absorbe those sharp exhaust pulses.

In fact, I think at least four turbos, one per port and then two afterwards, so first turbo gets hottest exhaust, and air already compressed by second turbo, which gets already-used exhaust, so it needs to be bigger to allow the motor to breathe.

An exhaust pulse
is a terrible thing to waste.
