Hello all.

Yesterday morning in between songs i heard a sound coming from under the car. Turns out the engine splash cover came off from one end. I don't travel through rough terrain obviously. How many of you have had this issue? Did you take it completely off or replace it? opinions?

Thx

You did not have an oil change done lately, have you?

Is your splash shield damaged? If not, just resecure it.

I had a similar problem with my wife's Hyundai Elantra. I bought a replacement, on E-bay, and secured it with plastic rivets (using a rivet gun) that I purchased from Harbor Freight. Very easy. On the Challenger, the splash shield is secured by small metal screw bolts (M6X1.00X25.50).

The primary function of an engine splash shield (or belly pan) is to protect the engine from debris, water, and other harmful elements on the road. It serves as a barrier between the engine and the road, preventing dirt, rocks, and other debris from damaging the engine’s vulnerable components. The splash shield also helps to keep the engine clean, which can improve its performance and longevity.

Another benefit of an engine splash shield is that it helps to improve your car’s aerodynamics. By reducing the amount of air that flows underneath the car, the splash shield can help to improve fuel efficiency and reduce wind noise.

I would definitely replace it.

Here is a link to buy a belly pan from E-Bay for only $36, with free shipping. (Note- This item lists for $136 on MOPAR parts).
