Paying Homage

I was searching for my Pentastar button and couldn't decide on gold or silver so I searched a bit and found this article on it. I'm getting the gold because it was an all pre-1990 cars I found. Chrysler’s Pentastar | Allpar Forums I hope it works, not good at this

 

Looks like the one you ordered has a metal post and requires drilling the fender to mount it. Two thoughts:
1 Use a dremel tool and cut off the posts so the back is flat. Then use some 3M automotive double sided tape to mount to the fender.
2. I bought a plastic gold emblem on eBay - was easy to cut the posts with a knife and then mount.
I don't know if you really want to drill a hole in the fender, just asking for corrosion down the road.

Yes Frostbite blue and I found a place that has the button already cut and stick on ready if I go there. I just can't decide between a smooth clean panel or add it.
